The Sindh High Court granted on Tuesday interim bail to former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in a case pertaining to illegal appointments in the Pakistan State Oil.
The National Accountability Bureau had issued his non-bailable arrest warrants in the case on March 27. This is the second reference NAB has filed against the ex-premier.
Abbasi, who is currently out on bail in the LNG terminal case, has been accused of hiring people illegally while he was serving as the petroleum minister during PML-N’s tenure.
The Sindh High Court granted him interim bail against deposition of Rs500,000 surety bonds. Former petroleum secretary Arshad Mirza was also granted bail in the case.
The court restricted the NAB from arresting Abbasi. It asked the ex-premier to appear before the trial court on June 9.
