Jhang man arrested for throwing acid at cousin

A man was arrested for throwing acid at his cousin on Friday for refusing to marry him in Jhang’s Shorkot, according to the police.

After Shahzad’s cousin refused his marriage proposal, he went to her house and threw acid at her in an attempt to take revenge. The woman was immediately shifted to a hospital.

An FIR has been registered and the police are interrogating Shahzad. The woman’s family has demanded that Shahzad be strictly punished.

The Jhang DPO has also taken notice of the attack as the number of acid attacks in the district and Punjab have increased.
