On Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan distributed aid to people who lost their jobs during the coronavirus pandemic through the PM COVID-19 Relief Fund. The government will add Rs4 to every Rs1 donated. PM Khan tweeted that transparency rules will be fully applied during the cash distribution.
Street crimes across the country rise as markets reopen. A man stole a motorcycle from outside a market in Karachi’s Liaquatabad. In Lahore, a shopkeeper was shot for resisting a robbery. Two alleged robbers took Rs500,000 from a resident at gunpoint in Jhelum.
Karachi man killed his brother for using his face wash without permission. The incident was reported from Manghopir two days ago. The suspect confessed his crime to the police.
Two men were arrested from Gujarat for raping men. The suspects used to call them to different places pretending to be women and raped them.
The footage of a road accident that took place in Karachi’s Defence on May 16 has been released. A man was killed and four people were injured after a collision between two vehicles on Khayaban-e-Bukhari.
The Pakistan Railways will resume its operations from Wednesday. Railway Minister Sheikh Rasheed has announced that 15 trains will be run across Pakistan. Tickets can be purchased online. People who don’t have a booking won’t be allowed to enter the station. He has appealed that the public should follow the government SOPs.
Coronavirus has reached the prisons of Pakistan. A total of 40 inmates in Karachi’s jail tested positive for the virus. In the last 24 hours, 36 people lost their lives to the disease taking the total death toll to 939. The country reported 1,841 new cases.
More than 250 students from Wuhan reached Islamabad through a special PIA flight. They have been shifted to a quarantine centre.
