Federal Minister for Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam has said PML-N founder Nawaz Sharif is silent under a strategy and he, along with his family, will remain in Pakistan’s politics for a long time.
“There are two kinds of politics: strategic and tactic. The Sharifs are playing tactically,” the federal minister told SAMAA TV in an exclusive interview on Tuesday.
He remarked that the Sharifs are trying to be in politics for an extended time and they’ll succeed in their efforts since they’re being supported by their entire party.
When asked why Nawaz Sharif is not in the limelight right now, Imam thought it’s happened before too. “Even in 1999 and 2007, Nawaz vanished from the limelight only to emerge in the national politics again,” he said. “In the next six months, we’ll see where politics is heading.”
About the current scenario in the country and the ruling PTI’s efforts in combating the coronavirus, Imam said time ultimately passes, but it’s the performance that is questioned.
Imam’s remarks are in contrary to his party mates. While PTI leaders Fawad Chaudhry, Firdous Ashiq Awan and other government members claim Nawaz Sharif’s political career has been wrapped up, Imam predicts the PML-N founder will bounce back into the politics after some time.
