Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmad took oath on Wednesday as a judge of the Supreme Court.
Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa administered the oath at the Supreme Court. Judges, the attorney-general, bar members and senior lawyers attended the ceremony.
The number of judges in the Supreme Court has now risen to 17.
Before being elevated to the Supreme Court, Justice Ahmad served as a judge of the Lahore High Court from 2014 to 2019. His elevation notice was issued after the retirement of former chief justice Saqib Nisar.
