A man was killed and his wife injured after they were shot by their neighbours in Faislabad for cutting wood from trees in their fields, the police said on Monday.

Two women, living next to each other, had gotten into a fight on Monday in Dijkot over the wood. Later in the day, their husbands got into an argument as well after which they opened fire on each other.

The man was immediately rushed to hospital but he couldn’t sustain his injuries. His wife, on the other hand, is in critical condition.

According to the police, a post mortem examination will be conducted. A case has been registered against the neighbours.

“Investigation will begin once the victim’s family gives their statement,” a police officer said.
