Actor Nadia Jamil opened up about her cancer treatment and losing her hair in an Instagram post over the weekend.

“Going bald when my hair started falling was a huge turning point in my life. It forced me to to look myself in the face. Squarely. No more hiding,” she said. “It also made me face the fears I’d built up within me over the years and decide to start working hard on becoming more independent, more fearless, even as I decide to accept my fears and fragility.”

Going bald when my hair started falling was a huge turning point in my life. It forced me to to look myself in the face. Squarely. No more hiding. It also made me face the fears I’d built up within me over the years and decide to start working hard on becoming more independent, more fearless, even as I decide to accept my fears and fragility. They are all me. I like my bald head although sometimes it seems strange to me, sometimes I miss my mane. So a big thank you to @macmillancancer for letting me choose a wig! I looked at all sorts of lovely wigs of all lengths and sized before I decided on this sleek beautiful blue one. A lot of fun! Have always wanted blue hair! Ye cheez!
