Pakistan will investigate the flour and drugs crises after the sugar inquiry is completed, said Babar Awan in an interview on Monday.
“Those found involved will be punished,” the PM adviser on parliamentary affairs said. He said that the drugs inquiry refers to the different medicines imported from India, these include life-saving drugs among others.
An important feature of the sugar inquiry is of receivables and recoverables. This means that the farmers were who cheated will be paid back the amount, he remarked. “No previous ruler has ever made such an effort.”
On sugar inquiry, he said that different inquiries are being conducted by different organisations. The FIA and NAB are both investigating it. Shahzad Akbar has been given the task to decide what organisation will investigate what aspect of this crisis, he claimed. “Strict action will be taken against the institutions that showed complacency and big names will be revealed too.”
The PM has even ordered to investigate all those responsible for the increase in the price of cement too, he added.
