A sixth grade boy was killed outside a private school in Islamabad after a security guard accidentally shot him on Wednesday.
The school is located within the jurisdiction of the Nilore police station.
The boy was killed when a school guard, who was reportedly cleaning his shotgun, accidentally fired a shot. The guard, identified as Jameel, has been taken into custody.
The police are investigating the incident.
Saeed, the deceased student, was immediately taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
An eyewitness said he heard the sound of a gunshot and rushed to see what happened. He said the student kept crying in pain for over 10-15 minutes and instead of providing a vehicle to take the child to a hospital, the school administration closed its gates.
The parents of the boy staged a protest outside the school along with his body.
