Travelling from Sialkot to Lahore will now take 41 minutes

July 17, 2019

Travelling from Sialkot to Lahore will soon take just 41 minutes instead of the three hours it takes now.

The motorway being constructed between Sialkot and Lahore is in its final stages and is expected to be ready by August 31.

The Rs43 billion 51km motorway will have seven interchanges and four lanes.

Deputy Commissioner Bilal Haider said there are three sections of the motorway and the first and third sections are ready. It’ll take around a month to complete the middle section, he said, adding that they hope to open the road on August 31.

People are looking forward to the new motorway because they say it will help them a lot. Traders especially are hoping to use the new thoroughfare and say it will cut their travel time and expenses down.

Apparently it seems very difficult to open for traffic by end of August 2019 as a lot of work is pending of Interchanges. Anyhow it is very good project and Authorities should pursue for earliest completion.

Sialkot-Lahore Motorway project was designed by Sialkot Chamber Chamber of Commerce almost in 2000 as a part of Millaneum century, approval by General Pervaiz .Musharaf President of Pakistan and construction started by Ch. Pervaiz Elahi CM Punjab. 99% percent by Nawaz Sharif govt and now final inauguration by IK govt.
This is a golden project for people of Sialkot and other district to transport fresh vegetables. Wheat and Rice. Best cultivation in the world. Traders and B2B will facilitate themselves.
