Two policemen were gunned down in Karachi’s Orangi Town Monday morning.
The incident occurred near the Noori Chowk in Mominabad. The police say they were targeted while going for duty.
The two policemen were officers of the Sindh Reserve Police and were posted at the Mominabad police station. They both lived in the Police Training Centre’s Bachelor Barracks in Saeedabad.
They have been identified as Constable Allahdita from Sanghar and Ahmed Ali from Kamber-Shahdadkot, according to West SSP Shaukat Khattian.
The weapon used in the attack was a 9mm pistol and the police say they have recovered five bullet casings from the scene.
Sindh Inspector General of Police Kaleem Imam has taken notice of the attack and called for a report. Footage of the attackers fleeing the scene has emerged showing four suspects on two motorcycles. Two wore caps while the other two wore helmets.
