A woman was beaten up by her daughter, son-in-law and another man over a property dispute in Lahore on March 31.
The woman, Fauzia Haroon, has lodged a case against the three suspects. She says they wanted a bigger share of the five kanal 12 marla house in Nishtar Colony left to her by her late husband.
The attack took place at 11:51pm on March 31. CCTV footage of the attack shows the woman’s daughter, Hina, approaching her mother as she was going to retire for the evening.
Fauzia said that initially, the trio had banged on her front door and when she didn’t open it, they climbed onto her balcony and broke the lock and got in. She also said they broke the CCTV cameras outside the house.
Hina stopped her mother from leaving and pushed her towards the other suspect, identified as Aamir Gujjar. Gujjar then pushes Fauzia to the ground.
Fauzia’s domestic workers rushed forward to help her but he too received a beating from Gujjar. As Fauzia crawled to the dining room, Gujjar appears, grabs her mobile phone from her and pushes her to the ground once again. Hina then pushes the domestic workers and holds up a finger at them, seemingly warning them away from helping her mother.
All the while, Hina kept screaming at her. Before the suspects leave, Hina can once again be seen yelling something at her mother, who by that time has crawled to the living room and is sitting on the floor, clutching her arm. It was broken in the attack.
Fauzia says Hina wants a bigger share. She has lodged a case against Hina, her son-in-law Suleman and Gujjar, whom Fauzia identified as the son of Ilyas Gujjar.
As they were leaving, they threatened me, she said. “We are just going to finish you if you don’t transfer the land to our name,” she quoted them as saying.
