Personnel of the Pakistan Customs want officers to stop making them do menial housework.

We are ashamed that we have to do kitchen chores and make tea while wearing our uniforms, the personnel complained. This is part of a complaint lodged on the Pakistan Citizens’ Portal by Customs personnel against their seniors.

They submitted a combined complaint against officers of Pakistan Customs and want Prime Minister Imran Khan to take notice of the situation.

They say that some senior officers have even deputed personnel at their houses as domestic workers.

“Millions of rupees of government money is spent on training and grooming sepoys/constables,” they said. “However, after we complete our training, we, the uniformed personnel, are assigned to make tea for officers.”

We are ashamed of having to perform such menial tasks while in uniform, they complained.

The personnel used the Pakistan Citizens’ Portal to lodge their complaint. The portal is a mobile application launched by the PTI government to allow citizens to voice their grievances.
