Rain has been reported across the country, with temperatures dropping in several areas.
It rained Tuesday night in Abbotabad, Havelian, Doonga Gali and Ayubia and the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast another 36 hours of rain. Temperatures dropped in the area, as well as in Murree, where the lowest temperature was recorded at three degrees Centigrade.
It also rained in Attock and its surrounding areas. The Met department has predicted another 12 hours of rain in the area. Farmers are worried because the rain poses a serious threat to the wheat crop. Water levels in the Indus and canals have also risen.
Sporadic rain was reported in Okara overnight, with the Met department predicting another 24 hours of light rain in the area.
Flooding was reported in several areas of Rajanpur, such as Lal Garh, Chatol, Jhok Makol and Meeranpur, and people are being evacuated using boats. Relief camps have been set up and the deputy commissioner said the authorities are working to drain the villages.
In Balochistan heavy rain has claimed 29 lives in the past four days. Flooding has been reported in several areas, as well as landsliding. Several roads have been closed and the evacuation process is under way.
