Warner Bros has filed a copyright infringement complaint against US President Donald Trump for using music from its 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises in a video he posted on Twitter.

Trump posted the video as part of his 2020 re-election campaign. After being viewed over one million times in three hours, Twitter removed the video on Warner Bros’ complaint. A spokesperson for the company said that the use of the score in the campaign video was unauthorised.

The two-minute video compared shots of prominent Democrats like former president Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, comedians Rosie O’Donnell and Amy Schumer to images of Trump’s first two years in office.

The music used was Hans Zimmers’ score for the track Why Do We Fall for Warner Bros’ Batman movie.
