The Sindh Enquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment has sped up its investigation against Azam Khan, a 19-grade officer in the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board. It has launched a probe against the officer on complaint by KWSB engineers.

Khan is the director of billings in KWSB. He is considered to be a powerful officer. He is the elder brother of MQM-P leader Amir Khan.

The anti-corruption department of the provincial government is investigating the appointment, promotion and posting of officers on a political basis. It has summoned Khan’s service record.

The water board is cooperating with the anti-corruption department, KWSB MD Asadullah Khan told SAMAA TV.
