Rawalpindi police arrest suspected killer after six years

Police arrested a proclaimed offender six years after he killed a youth in Rawalpindi.

The suspect, Bilal Hussain alias Baali, was arrested by the Rawalpindi Airport police. Bilal killed a youth, Rizwan Ashraf, over a land dispute in 2013 in Wakeel Colony, according to the police.

It was about an estate dispute, said SHO Airport police Muhammed Riaz. The suspect, a resident of Nawaz Colony, had been in hiding for the last six years, said the police official.

We arrested him when our informer told us about his arrival, he said.

I haven’t been on the run, said Bilal. Instead, I have been earning a livelihood for my children, he said.

The suspect said he surrendered on his own as he was disturbed by the police.
