Karachi is expected to receive showers on Monday and Tuesday, according to the Meteorological Department.

A system has entered Balochistan and it is expected to bring rains to Karachi too, said the Met department.

On Sunday night, a mild sand storm was reported in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, SITE, Malir, Landi, Stadium Road, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, North Karachi and Nazimabad.

The people are, however, happy as the rain may bring slight relief from scorching heat in the city.

“We are praying for heavy rains,” a man told SAMAA TV.

The administration has come into action and restricted people from travelling to known tourist sports. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority has written letters to all deputy commissioners to ensure the ban.

Fishermen have been barred from going into open waters too.

Flooding occurred in Balochistan following heavy rains on Friday night and Saturday.

On Sunday, over 150 Hindu pilgrims were rescued after being stranded in Bolan due to flash floods.
