A polio worker was killed by a family who refused to have their child vaccinated in the Mohmand district.
Babar Atta, the focal person to Prime Minister Imran Khan on polio eradication, confirmed the news on Monday.
A Young Polio Worker (Wajid) from Mohmand Tribal District just embraced Shahdat as reportedly he was trying to convince a chronically refusing family to allow vaccination to the child. I give Wajid’s family my word that I will personally follow this case to its conclusion. 1/2

The deceased has been identified as Wajid. He hailed from Attukhel and worked as a union council polio officer.
He succumbed to his injuries at the Gulnai hospital.
Police and other law enforcement agencies are conduction raids to arrest the killers, Atta said in a Tweet.
“Parents can refuse polio vaccinations but attacking and then killing innocent polio workers will not be tolerated,” he added.
