A policeman, identified as Zafar Ali, was shot dead by unknown men on Wednesday while he was deployed at a health unit to provide security during an anti-polio drive in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Buner.
He was attacked within the limits of the Dagger police station. The suspects fled after shooting him, according to the police.
The suspects’ main target was the police officer, not the anti-polio team, said the spokesperson of district police. The police believe Ali was killed due to personal enmity.
Another police officer deployed with a polio team was gunned down on Tuesday while he was on his way to work in KP’s Bannu district.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan has taken notice of the incident.
