Dozens of plants were reportedly uprooted just to plant one sapling in Murree on Friday.

The sapling was planted by Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed as part of the PTI government’s ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ campaign.

“Only bushes were removed not plants,” claims the federal minister for communications.

The existing plants were bulldozed to plant a new one.

Prime Minister Imran Khan launched his Clean and Green Pakistan initiative around six months ago broom in hand. He swept part of the floor while inaugurating the project at a local school in Islamabad.
