PIA to start charging extra for bulkhead seats

The Pakistan International Airline will charge people more for bulkhead seats.

These are those seats which are behind a bulkhead, which separates first class from economy. The seats are preferred by some people because they have more legroom and there is no seat which can recline into one’s face.

People will now have to pay Rs5,000 more for the seat while travelling to the US, Rs3,000 more for London and Europe, Rs2,000 more for Gulf countries and Rs1,000 more while travelling in Pakistan.

The bulkhead seats were previously given to people on request.

Do you think they are doing on their own? They are Naquals . They copy all what others do. They do not come up with something on their own( good things).

This will save PIA top management, the time it spends deciding who to oblige and who to say sorry. Good move

PIA needs to fix its entertainment gadgets. The first thing people complaint about is electronics not working. This spoils the fun for all age groups.

  12. Hbibi  April 22, 2019 10:32 am/ Reply

How rubbish. They already charge so much for a crap service now this!! In future will not be traveling them , especially with family. Babies need bulkhead seats for bassinet. Its just a way to make profit from passengers who really need those seats. Very disappointed. Shows a lack of empathy

I travel from London to Karachi about month ago plans sealing was leak water coming in from some were,no entertainment system working, the food is utterly rubbish same standard as 20 years ago.and on top of that cabin crew is so roude, old plane they need either referbisment or new plan with young and good attitude cabin crew, but I still love to fly in pia because that’s my country airlines.

If you want Pakistan to progress, and the national carrier to survive, then this fine. The people of Pakistan will get the benefits eventually.

How about giving the passengers the service for what they are currently paying for first. Travelled with PiA in Oct 18 and the planes were disgusting, tatty seats, no entertainment, lazy staff could be bothered to give me a blanket for kids, leaking taps. Exactly what did i pay for. Improve your current service then increase prices. TRAVELLED WITH PIA in 99 and it was great….but since has rapidly gone down hill.

They will only last another 10 years. Awful service, we paid for inflight entertainment. Nothing worked not even the lights, or call for assistance button. Asked for blankets for my kids and pillows and was told that they didn’t have any. What?? I’ve complained and want a partial refund, at almost £1000 a seat it’s the basic. Never flying via pia. Most of the passengers I spoke to will be flying with British airways from June. Me too. Worst airline ever and have travelled alot.

  21. Imran  April 22, 2019 7:46 pm/ Reply

Absolutely rubbish service it’s an embarrassment when your country’s national airline falls behind the basic stuff
I’ve made 5 trips in 2 years from London to lahore and London to Islamabad on business class yet no gadgets work no entertainment works seats are old cabin crew are old and very rude stuck up
Can’t wait for British Airways to start there service

  22. Nasir  April 22, 2019 9:02 pm/ Reply

Please, help PIA to revive… It’s Pakistan Airlines… Our airline… May b bit lower than Emirites, Oman, Qatar… But only speciality is… It’s Pakistani Airline… Request from all… Please use PIA to make it stand on feet…

  23. Syed  April 22, 2019 9:22 pm/ Reply

    Worst airline ever

  24. Amir  April 22, 2019 9:37 pm/ Reply

PIA sucks. “Buy it from the booking office”. You invested so much money on new Reservation System, and still I am required to VISIT the booking office. All airlines provide such services thru Web portal . You still love to live in the 14th century. Shame shame shame.

  25. Sam  April 22, 2019 10:20 pm/ Reply

Stopped travelling PIA because there has been no improvement what so ever towards anything on the flight Qatar and Emirares are really good first class service even in the economy class with plenty of feet space, entertainment I know yes we have to support PIA we’ve been doing that for the last 30 years still no improvement.

  26. Tt  April 22, 2019 11:21 pm/ Reply

Pia is one of the worse airline inckuding the workforce. Pia requires new planes and trained staff. Pia charge silly money for seats and personally all travelers need to boycott pia

  27. Kaleem  April 22, 2019 11:34 pm/ Reply

When BRITISH AIRWAYS start then PIA will start to improve due to competition as they will start to loose money and govt will take notice then. Some ppl will get fired and system will start to improve

  28. Iqra  April 23, 2019 3:29 am/ Reply

PIA Airline isnt worth to travel. The staff are rude. They wont give you no blankets pillows. Food is awful. And ticket prices are very high. They are robbing us in the UK. No entertainment for the kids. All what we want is a good enjoyable flight and staff giving us respect…

  29. Kashif  April 23, 2019 4:03 am/ Reply

Other flights sell bulkhead seats. Why not PIA.
The b777’s are max 13 years old. New ife and seats upgrade is imminent especially on Europe route. Pia gets you from UK to Islamabad, Pakistan in 7 hrs flat. BA when it starts will take longer and only 23kg on standard economy.
If you check prices today from London to Islamabad, PIA will be cheaper than BA. Also food is not too bad as well especially from uk.

Though most of the observations are correct but generally people have no idea about the airline business.running an airline is not a easy business .throgh out the world airlines are doing this .a part of the revenue is generated in multiple ways like charging extra for bulkhead.or extra for an entertainment system or baggage or even low cost carriers charge u for a pillow.basically what u pay is the fare for taking u safely from one point to another which I think pia is doing.pia is offering u business class food in economy primI’m class for which one is paying far less then what was in business class.yes shortcomings are there but same is the case with pakistan .do u disown the country?if u don’t then one should own and help pia rise again .I think new management is dedicated and honest.long live pakistan and long live pia.becos whatever it’s my national carrier and I want pakistan and pia to grow and rise again .

  31. Sab  April 23, 2019 4:34 pm/ Reply

They all rob us as it is and now want to rob us more. The ticket prices are so high especially PIA. Service is no good, food no good yet want more money. Keep your prices resonable and more people will travel.
