The people working on the Peshawar BRT project have been ordered to work in double shifts with no holidays till the project is completed.

The project was inaugurated in October 2017 and former CM Pervaiz Khattak had announced that it would be completed within six months. The deadline has been extended five times since then.
A team had inspected the project recently on the orders of incumbent CM Mahmood Khan. The team said, in its report, that the people’s money is being wasted because of poor planning and negligence.
On April 2, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government dismissed its transport secretary over delays in the construction of the BRT project in Peshawar.
Transport and Mass Transit Secretary Kamran Rehman was removed from his post and the role was temporarily given to Board of Revenue member Fakhre Alam.
