PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz said that the raid on his house by NAB made him feel like a terrorist.

The people of Pakistan can see how NAB made a mockery of people’s privacy, he said while speaking to the media after the raid.

“Shehbaz Sharif is the opposition leader in the National Assembly, I am the opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly.”

He said NAB has been politically targeting people. “Shehbaz was summoned in the Saaf Paani reference but arrested in Aashiana-e-Iqbal reference,” he said. The court then granted him bail.

“I have appeared before NAB whenever I have been summoned. My daughter has been fighting for her life but I still appeared before NAB.”

More than Rs1 trillion has been spent on the Peshawar BRT. Corruption worth billions of rupees has been reported there but no one is questioning the ministers there, he said. “NAB is only interested in arresting Shehbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif.”

The court told you to inform me 10 days before arresting me, but you failed to follow those orders, Hamza said. On November 21, 2018 the Lahore High Court had directed NAB to provide Hamza 10 days to approach the appropriate legal forum if his arrest warrants are issued.

In another order, the Supreme Court overturned the LHC’s verdict and ruled that NAB no longer needs to tell people in advance about their arrests. An examination of the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999, revealed that NAB can arrest any person without informing them, the court said.
