Man kills wife and children in Karachi: police

A man accused of killing his wife and two children and then setting their house on fire near Karachi’s Jamshed Road on March 22 has been sent to police custody for three days.

A city court remanded the man, Junaid, into police custody during a hearing on Wednesday. He is accused of killing his wife, eight-year-old son and four-year-old daughter and starting a fire to cover up his crime.

The police believe his friends helped him kill his family. His other relatives reportedly tried to cover up his crime by saying he was in Malaysia at the time of the incident.

However, according to the senior investigation officer, Junaid’s passport showed that he returned to Pakistan on February 16.His family claims he arrived the day before the incident.

The police earlier believed that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
