A man has confessed to killing his sister and five-year-old niece in Lahore, police said on Friday.
The bodies of a woman, Ayesha, and her daughter, Amna, were found at their house on Lytton Road on April 15. Her one-year-old son Ahad was dropped off at a mosque by a man wearing a motorcycle helmet the same day his family was killed.
Her brother, Usman, said that he killed his sister because he suspected her character. He killed his niece because she started screaming after her mother’s murder. “I wanted to silence her.”
The police said that he gave his sister sedatives in her tea and then strangled her. He dropped off his nephew at a mosque.
CIA Inspector Taqat Sajawar said that Usman was a drug user.
The police are preparing a challan and will present Usman before a court soon.
