Work at the KMC will be suspended on Thursday due to the elections for the city’s deputy mayor.

A meeting was held on Wednesday at Commissioner House to review the arrangements for the election. It was attended by regional election commissioner Ali Asghar Sayal, South Deputy Commissioner Salahuddin (who is also a returning officer), and Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Saifur Rehman.

Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Shalwani said he wants to make sure peaceful elections are held with foolproof security.
