PTI leader Jahangir Tareen came out in support of former finance minister Asad Umar in wake of a social media campaign against him.
“Asad [and] I have struggled together against the status-quo for more than 8 years,” said Tareen in a tweet on Sunday. “I hold him in the highest regard.”
He said that Asad Umar continues to be a “part and parcel of PTI senior leadership”. We all value his role, he added.
Asad Umar stepped down as finance minister last week. He refused to be part of PM Imran Khan’s cabinet too.
Following this, Farhan Virk launched a campaign against Umar and accused him of dividing the party.
