Investigating officer issued show-cause notice in Karachi model’s murder case

A court issued on Tuesday a show-cause notice to the investigating officer in the Karachi model murder case.

The court expressed its anger over the failure of the investigating officer, Rashid Mughal, to investigate the case.

“The officer has gone to his village instead of preparing the case’s challan,” a judge remarked.

The SSP was ordered to ensure the presence of the officer in court at the next hearing. The court had ordered exhumation of the body. The officer was supposed to present a challan in court following the exhumation.

The court approved four-day physical remand of two hospital staffers, Rubina and Atif.

Rubab Zaidi, known as Hani Zaidi, was found dead near the Mochko graveyard on February 22.

The prime suspect Umar is currently out on bail, the police told the court. Umar is a resident of Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The model’s family has accused Umar of murdering her.
