Floods wreak havoc in Rajanpur, leave hundreds homeless

People are being shifted to safer locations



Flash floods have wreaked havoc in Rajanpur, leaving at least 700 people homeless and destroying thousands of acres of wheat crop.

At least 40 villages in Rod Kohi were hit by the floods, destroying over 10,000 acres of wheat crops and damaging 456 houses.

The flood affectees are being shifted to safer locations from Lashari Basti. The rescue officials said that their teams have reached the scene and the rescue operation will continue till the last person is moved to a safe location.

However, the affectees say that they haven't been given any kind of aid.

They said that the floods hit their village after midnight, damaging their homes. Rescue teams arrived in the morning, they added.

The people and animals all are hungry, said a resident.

The flood affectees said that Punjab CM Usman Buzdar belonged to their area but hasn't visited yet.
