Dogs are considered the most easily trained and human-friendly of all domesticated animals, however, a pet dog in Karachi’s Baldia Town proved that this is not always the case.

A child was attacked by a pet dog in Baldia Town on Monday. The dog bit the child’s leg and held on for 18 minutes.

People, including the dog’s owner, tried to get the dog to release its grip but were unable to do anything. They poured water on the dog, hit it with shoes and tried to pry its mouth open, but it wouldn’t budge.

The dog only released its grip when a cat was brought to distract it.

How was the dog treated. In USA these incidents happens too and the dog is Euthanized. In USA for viscious dogs it is now mandatory to have dog insurance

Dog should be killed instantly, In UK dogs are gunned down when such cases comes. Just google it and you will find lots of news around this. Child life is more important not dogs wheather dog is called Alfa or kutta.

I think since it was pet dog then must vaccinated. However, such incident captures the attention towards stray dogs as well for which local municipal corporation/s not doing at all and population of stray dogs alarmingly increasing. May Almighty save the attacked child and all kids of the city from such attacks. Ameen.

Most of these people keep dogs just for show off, putting other’s, perticularly children’s life in danger. Having pet dogs must be banned. Only people who need a dog for useful purpose should be allowed to have one to minimize the risk.

People who are blaming the dog are actually nuts and probably are the ones who abuse animals, supports donkey carts and kick cats and dogs minding their own way, for no reason. Dogs Woh Hain, but harkatain yeh Jaahil ki aulads karte Hain. Bleach pee Kar paani main doob Kar marjao jaahilun.

Though it was a pet…but Sindh gov is killing poor strays. Please clean your environment and launch humane campaigns to neuter or vaccinate dogs to decrease their numbers. When there is no garbage, Dogs wont impede human settlements…when neutered, dogs decrease in population and fight off newer dogs for territory thereby reducing outer dogs from invading societies.

Please takecare of dogs in karachi residential streets. Im having alot of trouble while riding my bike. There is no problem in main roads because of insane traffic. But theres always a dog in streets waiting for u. And He will chase u. If im riding for 45 mins trip. I will meet atleast 6 or 7 dogs who will chase me. WTF is Pakistan minister doing? CAnt he handle a simple problem like this?

  22. Ahmed  July 26, 2019 2:32 pm/ Reply

Poor judgment on our uninformed society’s part. Some breeds of dogs can develop a kind of locking of the jaw when they bite in an instant. This locking is something even the dog can’t undo. It’s HIGHLY possible the dog’s jaw was locked leaving it helpless. The best thing to do is physically unlock the jaw. Trust me, no dog wants to hold on to a bite for so long.

I hope the dog and especially the child are okay. The child should now be normalised around dogs so that he is not afraid of dogs in the future.

    We will learn.
