An anti-terrorism court in Karachi issued non-bailable arrest warrants on Tuesday for three suspects in the Ali Raza Abidi murder case.
The judge instructed police to arrest the suspects, Hasnain, Bilal and Ghulam Mustafa alias Kali Charan, and produce them before the court in the next hearing.
The law enforcement agencies have already arrested four suspected in connection with the murder case. Abidi was killed in a gun attack outside his residence in Defence’s Khayaban-e-Ghazi in Karachi on December 25, 2018.
According to the police, the suspects were paid Rs800,000 to kill the former parliamentarian.
Abidi’s family, however, showed distrust over the investigators and appealed to the chief justice to take suo motu notice of Abidi’s murder. “We don’t trust the investigating institutions,” Abidi’s mother said. “A team comprising high-ranking officers should be formed. We just want justice,” she said.
