Six people were injured during celebratory fire at wedding ceremony in Lahore’s Mughalpura Friday night.
They have been shifted to Services Hospital. Three of them are in critical condition.
Family members of the injured have accused law enforcers of opening fire. They say those who opened fire were in police uniforms.
Anarkali Circle DSP Zafar Abbas called it a tragic incident. He said it is being said that policeman, Irfan, allegedly opened fire. He said a mehndi ceremony was under way when the shots were fired.
The families of the injured have called for an inquiry into the incident.
On April 13, two people were killed and one injured in aerial firing at a mehndi celebration in Sheikhupura’s Feroz Town.
Residents had alleged that the groom’s friends were intoxicated and opened fire. Police said a man has been detained and a case had been registered.
