He served as the IB director-general during Musharraf’s tenure

Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Shah took oath on Tuesday as a federal minister of parliamentary affairs.

President Arif Alvi administered the oath at Aiwan-e-Saddar in Islamabad. The oath-taking ceremony was attended by federal ministers and other office holders.

Shah was elected an MNA from NA-118 Nankana Sahib. He was a close aide of former military dictator Pervez Musharraf and served as the director-general of the Intelligence Bureau from 2004 to 2008.

 Former prime minister Benazir Bhutto had named Shah as one of the five people who should be investigated if she were to be assassinated.
