A 60-feet wide breach occurred in the Abbasi Canal in Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday.
The breach submerged a nearby village and agricultural land spreading acres of land.
Many houses were flooded and people were forced to leave their houses.
“Our house was inundated,” said a woman. “The walls of a nearby mosque have collapsed too, she said. “Everything has been destroyed.”
The area residents blamed the government’s negligence for the breach.
The authorities have reached the site and are working on repairing the breach.
