A boy in the Indian city of Hyderabad committed suicide after his mother scolded him for playing a popular video game called PUBG, Khaleej Times reported.

The 16-year-old boy hanged himself from a ceiling fan after his mother asked him to stop wasting his time and instead concentrate on his studies. His father has demanded the Indian government ban the game.

In March, two men were playing game on their phones near railway tracks and were hit by a train, the Press Trust of India reported.

PUBG is a game developed by a South Korean company in which players are dropped onto an island and have to eliminate each other.

A few cities in the Indian state of Gujrat have banned the game, stating that the game was distracting students from their schoolwork and making them violent.
