The bodies of a woman and her three-year-old twins were found in Karachi’s Orangi Town early Sunday morning.
It was concluded after a post-mortem examination at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre that the cause of death was all three having their throats slit by a sharp-edged weapon.
Medico-legal officer Aijaz Ahmed believes that considerable force would be needed to commit the murders.
The bodies were found by the woman’s husband at their home in Gulshan-e-Bahar. Neighbours gathered once they heard the man scream.
They say there was no electricity in the area at the time of the murder.
According to relatives, the husband had a tailor’s shop near their house. The family says they had no enemies.
An investigation team from the Pakistan Bazaar police station has collected evidence from the crime scene and recorded statements. An FIR has also been registered.
