A motor mechanic from Bahawalpur made a car from the engine of a motorcycle.
It took Bahawalpur’s 27-year-old Muhammed Naseer six months of hard work to build the car with a meager Rs40,000 at his disposal.
The car runs on a 70cc engine and can seat four people.
With no resources at his disposal, the mechanic built the car bit by bit. “I developed this car by spending [scant money as little as] Rs300 to Rs500 on this,” Naseer told SAMAA TV. “I prepared the vehicle completely in two years.”
He said he is both happy and scared. “I made the car. Another fellow also developed an air machine but he was arrested by the police.”
People frighten me that the police will arrest me one day, he said. "I don’t take my car out on the roads because of this fear," he said.
Earlier, a popcorn seller, Mohammad Fayaz, designed a plane and built it using whatever supplies he could get his hands on. He works as a part-time security guard as well. He also spent all his savings on his project.
Fayaz made a successful test flight before being arrested. His plane was confiscated and dismantled by the police. It was, however, returned to him a day earlier.
