Punjab police arrested on Wednesday a man accused of torturing his wife after she refused to dance in front of his friends in Lahore. Her husband also shaved her head to humiliate her.

The woman told the police that when she refused to dance for his friends, her husband, Mian Faisal, tied her to a pipe with ropes.

She said he had the male domestic staffers hold her down while he shaved her head and set it on fire. She was beaten routinely by her husband whom she married four years ago.

She has filed a case against him. The Punjab inspector-general of police also took notice of the case and told the DIG to personally investigate it.
