Two killed, four injured after explosion at a PSO petrol pump in North Karachi

The petrol pump, located near Powerhouse Chowrangi, has been sealed

Two people were killed and four injured on Sunday after an explosion at a PSO petrol pump near North Karachi's Powerhouse Chowrangi.

After the explosion, a fire broke out in the compressor room. The victims died on the way to the hospital. They have been identified as Fakhir and Saqib, and were 50 and 38 years old respectively. Their bodies were taken to Civil Hospital and a private hospital.

The injured, who have been identified as Rashid, Hamza and Mohib, have been taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors say they are out of danger.

One of the injured has been moved to Civil Hospital.

The fire brigade has extinguished the blaze and the petrol pump has been sealed.

The police are saying they haven't found out why the explosion occurred yet. They have begun an investigation into the incident.

An officer at the scene said they can't comment on the cause of the explosion yet.
