An Islamabad court approved on Wednesday the bail pleas of PPP Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and the party’s Islamabad president Shakeel Abbasi.
A case was filed against them on March 21 and 250 other PPP workers for attacking police personnel and causing a disturbance during Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari’s appearance before a NAB investigation team.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Jahangir set their sureties at Rs500,000 each.
The police had filed a request to have Senator Khokar’s protective bail revoked.
Speaking to the media outside the court, Senator Khokhar said that the petitioner had leveled fabricated and ludicrous allegations against him. The media’s cameras bore witness to how our workers were arrested, he said.
He said that they will come when their workers are to be presented in court to record their protest.
