The Karachi police are still on the lookout for the prime suspect in the murder of a model.

Rubab Zaidi, known as Hani Zaidi, was found dead near the Mochko graveyard on February 22.

Investigating officer Rashid Mughal said that the prime suspect in the case, Umar, has yet to be arrested. Umar is a resident of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, he added. The model’s family has accused Umar of murdering her.

The police said that Umar took Rubab to the Family Care Hospital, which is located near Shumail View Phase I in Gulzar-e-Hirji, for an abortion. She died during the procedure and then her body was dumped at the graveyard, according to the police.

On Wednesday, the remand of two hospital staffers, nurse Rubina and Atif, was extended by three more days. The West civil judge and judicial magistrate heard the case.

The investigating officer said that the suspects need to be interrogated further to ask them about Umar’s whereabouts.
