PML-Q’s Chaudhry Shujaat calls on PM Imran Khan

March 12, 2019

PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday.

The two exchanged views on the current political scenario in the country. Shujaat praised the premier on his leadership skills.

Federal Housing Minister Tariq Bashir and PM Special Adviser on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq were also present in the meeting.

Sources say that the matter of the PML-Q leadership winning more authority for its ministers in the centre and Punjab was also discussed. The government is reportedly considering giving another ministry and chair of a committee to the PML-Q.

PML-Q is reportedly proposed the names of Chaudhry Salik or Moonis Elahi for the ministry.

PM Imran is expected to hold separate meetings with the leaders of the Balochistan Awami Party and the Grand Democratic Alliance.

On January 21, during a meeting presided over by Shujaat in Islamabad, party leaders from the federal, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments said the federal government was intruding in their constituencies. They said the government was not treating them like coalition partners in their constituencies. This created some differences between the two parties.

On February 10, Haq met with Shujaat and Moonis Elahi in Gujrat. Talking to the media after the meeting, Shujaat announced his party will not be a part to any conspiracy against the PTI governments in the centre and the province.

We will never part ways with Imran Khan, he said.
