Nawaz Sharif doesn’t want PML-N workers to stage protests for him on March 23

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif doesn’t want PML-N workers to protest on March 23 against him not getting medical treatment in jail.

You should only celebrate Pakistan Day on March 23, he told workers. The PML-N is a responsible party and workers will adhere to party policy, he said.

Nawaz is incarcerated at the Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore. He was sentenced to seven years in prison in the Al-Azizia case and his legal team has filed a petition to have his sentence suspended on medical grounds.

PML-N workers had decided to stage protests from March 17 to March 23 in various locations to protest against the treatment being meted out to the three-time premier.

Nawaz cautioned the party workers and told them they should not make any decisions regarding protests without the approval of the party’s leadership.
