Pakistan joined the world community on Saturday in observing Earth Hour from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

It is aimed at creating awareness for energy conservation, climate change and global warming.

People around the world demonstrate their concern about the future of the planet by turning off their lights for one hour.

Unnecessary lights were turned off at the Prime Minister office and well-known landmarks all across Pakistan from 8:30pm to 9:30pm, including the National Assembly as well as the provincial assemblies.

The observance of the Earth Hour is particularly important for Pakistan in the backdrop of need for energy conservation and environmental protection.
