Lady health workers gathered on Lahore’s Mall Road on Wednesday for the third consecutive day to protest for higher salaries.
Their protest blocked traffic and the Charing Cross Chowk in front of the Punjab Assembly was closed for traffic.
The lady health workers also have other demands. They want the implementation of a proper service structure and their scales to be upgraded.
The Punjab health department said that it has accepted their demands but the president of the Lady Health Workers Association says otherwise. Rukhsana Anwar says the government hasn’t accepted their demands yet. She warns that they will not move until all their demands are accepted.
