The price of chicken in Karachi has gone up. It has increased to Rs320 per kilogramme because fewer farmers are breeding chickens.

“People spread rumors about diseases in chickens and therefore poultry farming has been reduced,” a shopkeeper on Burnes Road said.

According to a poultry farmer, high investment is required to breed and farm chickens.

The government has set the price at Rs301 per kilogramme but shopkeepers are selling chicken at a higher price due to the lack of supply.
