Armed men opened fire on the office
At least nine people, including eight policemen were killed and 22 people injured after unidentified men attacked the DIG office in Balochistan’s Loralai on Tuesday.
The injured included 10 policemen.
The men opened fire on the office and threw a hand grenade inside, said the police. The attack occurred when the DIG was interviewing people for jobs.
The Loralai DIG and SSP and other law enforcer were present in the office during the attack, however, they remained unharmed. More than 800 people were rescued from the office.
Police said the attack happened at around 12:30 in the afternoon.
Balochistan Home and Tribal Affairs Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau said more than 800 candidates were present inside the complex when the attack took place.
The suspects managed to escape. The police are monitoring the entry and exit points of the district, while the search for the suspects is under way.
