Lahore High Court wants people to start conserving water

The Lahore High Court has imposed a ban on washing cars using hosepipes to conserve water.

The court asked on Tuesday the Punjab government to prepare a report on ways to efficiently use water.

People can no longer wash their vehicles using a hosepipe, they will have to rely on using a bucket of water now. The government has been ordered to run an awareness campaign too.

Punjab assistant advocate general told the court that the government is drafting a law over water conservation. LHC has summoned irrigation and public health engineering secretaries in the next hearing.
