Javed Hanif is accused of illegal appointments and unlawful use of authority
The Sindh High Court has rejected the bail pleas of MQM MPA Javed Hanif, Rauf Akhtar Siddiqui, Mahmood Sharif and other suspects in a case relating to corruption and illegal appointments in the Karachi Port Trust.
During the hearing on Friday, the court rejected Hanif’s request. Hanif is accused of corruption and unlawful use of authority.
NAB says that Hanif made 940 illegal appointments in the ports and shipping ministry during Babar Ghauri’s tenure. The bureau says the illegal appointments caused a loss of over Rs2 billion to the national exchequer.
